(April 1, 2020) Are you fearful today?  Do television, internet, and radio reports of the novel coronavirus scare you or heighten your anxiety over this global pandemic?  You are not alone.  Many people are afraid and uncertain of the future, which should not be confused with a lack of faith in God.  The simple truth is that trials and obstacles come with living in a broken world.  However, it is in these times that it is imperative that we cling to the Word of the Lord, and hold it as the only truth that will help us get through this difficult season.

In Scripture, there are 365 verses that implore us not to fear, be scared, or worry.  Now, I know this is far easier said than done.  We must remember that the Lord has brought us this far, He will not leave our side now.  It simply is not His nature.  He has promised to be with us to the end of our days and, even when our days do reach their end, we are guaranteed to be with Him in paradise.

Please rest easy in that blessed assurance.

Perfect submission, all is at rest
I in my Savior am happy and blessed
You know I’m watching and waiting, I’m looking above
Filled with His goodness and I’m lost in his love

This is my, I know that this is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long
This is my story, this is my song

(“Blessed Assurance” by Fanny Crosby)

Blessings,
